Barcelona progressed to the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey after they narrowly edged Real Madrid, managing a 2-2 draw on the night.
The game was marred with yet more controversy and drama as Real's foul count amounted to well in advance of 20 when the final whistle came. Iniesta picked up a thigh injury in the match, suffering from several high-octane challenges.
Barcelona took the lead through Pedro two minutes before the break, despite the fact that Real Madrid has started the most brightly. Mesut Ozil was denied by the crossbar after a thunderous strike from distance, but Pedro found the net thanks to the genius of Messi. Leo drove forward with the ball and drew the attention of the Madrid back-line. He picked out Pedro with an eye-of-the-needle pass and the young Spaniard fired into the corner.
Barcelona doubled their lead on the stroke of half time, Dani Alves lashing the ball into the top corner from outside the box for what will go down as one of the strikes of the season.
Real Madrid hit back after half time through both Ronaldo and Benzema, Barcelona seemingly switching off during the middle of the second-half period.
The Blaugrana, however, made it through after their previous 2-1 victory in the first leg but will be ruing the injury to Iniesta which is surely a setback to their title hopes.
